Joint venture partners Poplar Harca, Londonewcastle and Telford Homes have appointed architects Studio Egret West and Ab Rogers Design to restore and sensitively adapt the 146 apartments in the renowned Brutalist Grade ll* building fro 21st century living. Balfron Tower was designed by legendary architect Erno Goldfinger, and constructed in 1967. It has some of the finest views over London's ever changing skyline.
Refurbishing an iconic building of such great architectural importance like Balfron Tower is always going to be difficult from a Heritage and Warranty perspective.
The existing concrete facade posed numerous hurdles from a Warranty point of view however the expert design team produced a bespoke remediation plan which enabled us to proceed with insurance cover. when complete this refurbishment will have restored Balfron to its forer glory. It's a scheme we're very proud to be involved with.
